Specifically, the Tunnel Heavy Equipment Operator will: Operate MSVs (multi service vehicle) Erector Operator Operate a power shovel or scraper loader to hoist earth and rock; Excavate tunnel headings; Move materials onto cars or trucks per requirements; Move levers to control the machines movement on narrow gauge tracks; Activate buckets or scrapers that scoop up or dig into materials and deposit these into carts or conveyor belts; Sweep the materials from the sides and bottom on the tunnel heading and deposit materials onto machine-mounted conveyors; and Other duties as required by the role. Required Knowledge and Skills Education Secondary School or equivalent; practical training, classroom or simulation; and working knowledge of English. Work experience MOLs required basic safety awareness training; 2-3 years experience utilizing heavy tunnel equipment including Scoop Trams, MSV and excavator 2-3 years experience of construction industry experience in tunnel operation roles across large projects 2-3 years experience operating machinery to remove earth materials, excavate tunnel headings and deposit materials accordingly 2-3 years experience providing mucking services and ensuring the removal of materials on large projects Compensation and Benefits $53 per hour.
