Obtain underground service clearances and prepare/ deliver WSP's Ground Disturbance Authorization process. Driving to various highway project sites to conduct and log core sampling, supervise and log boreholes, hauling and backing up test trailers, and completing Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) of highway pavements. Potential for involvement in research and development of novel methods for assessing the quality of pavement materials and structures, and in the inspection, sampling, NDE and assessment of reinforced concrete structures. You will perform a range of field and/ or laboratory tests and procedures to assess the thickness, properties and behaviour of pavement structures, materials, and subgrade soils (hot mix asphalt, concrete, granular base/ subbase, and subgrade). You will operate and help maintain testing equipment and instruments such as the falling weight deflectometer, ground penetrating radar, laser inertial profilograph, and core sampling equipment, ensuring accurate and reliable results. You will support equipment calibration, maintenance, and general housekeeping requirements to maintain a safe working environment. You will support sample management and the safe materials handling practices required for shipping, receiving, logging, handling, storage, and disposal of samples. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including researchers, engineers, and scientists, to support ongoing projects and provide valuable insights. You will compile and analyze experimental data for a variety of test methods, generating clear and concise reports to communicate findings to the team.
