The Psychologist functions as a valuable member of the interdisciplinary team and provides care to children and youth with complex mental health, behavioral and/ or developmental issues and their families. In particular, the Psychologist combines education and related clinical experience to offer psychological assessments (e.g., psychometric, diagnostic), clinical formulation, brief individual, group, and family intervention, treatment recommendations, and consultation to staff on psychology-related issues. The Psychologist is a leader in program development, quality assurance, and research initiatives. 

The Psychologist will have strong differential diagnostic skills, and will be able to provide supervision to the psychometrists. The Psychologist will also provide direct clinical service that in conjunction with the assessment services will involve consultation to the team, families and external agencies as well as treatment involving individual, group and family education/treatment. The Psychologist will be expected to provide clinical leadership in the development of clinical services for clients and families. Leadership will also be expected in program development including the implementation of quality and outcome indicators as well as the skills to set up evaluation processes. The Psychologist will be working within the context of a multidisciplinary team, utilizing a patient and family-centred approach, to provide assessment and treatment services for children and youth. The Psychologist will also provide consultation/liaison to other caregivers and community agencies. As part of the dynamic team, under the supervision of a psychologist, the Behaviour Therapist will be involved in behavioural assessment, program development, implementation, evaluation, and consultation with community caregivers. 

Provision of psychological assessment and treatment as part of an interdisciplinary team focusing on chronic pain management strategies. The Psychologist's role will include providing results of clinical assessments, conferencing patients and provision of treatment. Treatment will include individual psychotherapeutic techniques as well as development of group treatment strategies. Strategies include development of staff education and training in team based programs using educational, cognitive and behavioral strategies in the management of chronic pain as well as conducting group programs for this patient population.
