(OPG) is seeking for a dynamic, strategic and results driven professional to join our Renewable Generation team in the role of Project & Control Engineer/Officer based at our Niagara, ON station – Sir Adam Beck Generating Station.  This role is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement of up to two days per week working from home.  As a Project & Control Engineer/Officer you will have the opportunity to contribute to Ontario Power Generation by coordinating and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders. Identify actual and potential deviations from the approved annual, release or life cycle budgets or schedules to the Project Manager. Development Approvals Technician

Job Description JOB SUMMARY To be responsible for all aspects of Review/Analysis of Development Applications, on a Region-wide basis, from an Engineering perspective within a specified time period, in order to prepare recommendations and/or responses on behalf of the Corporation to the appropriate agency/authority, firm/private individual or other Planning and Development Services staff. This includes preparation for and participation in pre-consultation meetings with local municipalities, developers, and other staff. Also, on behalf of the Ministry of the Environment, to be responsible for reviewing and assisting in the approval of engineering design submissions by consultants and municipalities on sanitary and storm sewers projects on a Region wide basis. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION Completion of a 3-year community college program, with a diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in the municipal field. Must be certified or eligible for certification as a Certified Engineering Technologist with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT). KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in municipal engineering projects. Working knowledge of planning and engineering regulations and guidelines for municipal development. SKILLS Must possess knowledge of the Regional Water and Sewer System, Ministry of Environment (M.O.E.) guidelines for the design of municipal works, the Environmental Assessment Act, and Niagara Region policies. Must comply with O.A.C.E.T.T. Act & Code of Ethics. Must possess knowledge of computer applications such as IDARTS, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Niagara Atlas to perform job functions. Must possess strong technical report writing skills. Must possess knowledge of municipal sewer and water main design. Must be able to provide preliminary technical comments at pre-consultation meetings regarding potential developments. Must possess good communication, customer service and relationship management skills. Traffic Systems Technician

Job Description JOB SUMMARYOperates, maintains, and configures Niagara Region’s Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) and Traffic Camera Monitoring System. Develops and implements traffic signal timings and coordinated signal network plans. Undertakes traffic operational analysis and recommends the installation and modification of traffic control devices to improve traffic safety for all road users and facilitate traffic flow. Maintains various electronic databases for the Traffic Systems and Operations team. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION Successful completion of a 3-year Ontario College Advanced Diploma, in Civil Engineering Technology -Transportation or Transportation Engineering Technology. Must be eligible for certification with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT). Must be certified or eligible for certification (within 12 months) with the International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) at Traffic Signals Level I and Level II, and IMSA (Ontario) Practical Guide to Signs & Markings. KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE Minimum 3 years of experience working in traffic engineering (Co-operative work experience may be considered). Working knowledge and understanding of traffic signal timing and intersection capacity analysis. Working knowledge and understanding of the Ontario Traffic Manuals (OTM). Knowledge of the Highway Traffic Act & its Regulations (Ontario). Experience with ATMS Traffic Systems software is preferred (e.g. Centracs). Knowledge of CCTV systems and pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera controls is considered an asset. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, GIS Arc View and database management are considered assets. Additional training in geometric design and human factors engineering is considered an asset. SKILLS Proficiency with Synchro/Sim Traffic Software used in developing timing plans for traffic signal networks is required. Familiarity with Centracs (ATMS) and Video Management software is considered an asset. Familiarity and working knowledge with Time Space Diagram software is considered an asset.SPECIAL CONDITIONS Must possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted specified licence for the class of the vehicle operated (Class G).
