Available positions are:Janitor, Dispatch, TraineeHaul Truck OperatorBlaster, MaintainerDriller, Lead BlasterLead Hand, Lead Miner\r\nLocated at the Diavik Diamond Mine, you will be working on a 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off rotation in the interim (alternating night shift and day shift) rotational schedule on a 12 hours per shift day, with the potential that this changes to a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation in the future once the COVID-19 pandemic normalizes.\r\nWorking collaboratively with all operational and functional departments, you will be responsible for:\r\n\r\nIdentifying and responding to workplace hazards;\r\nEnsuring your underground tasks are completed according to set schedules.\r\nOperating underground mobile equipment and heavy equipment such as haul truck, scoop trams (manual & teleremote), Integrated Tool carrier (IT Loader), Simba longhole drill, Cubex ITH drill, emulsion loader, and/or grader;\r\nRecognizing and scaling loose and/or abnormal ground conditions or faulty ground support;\r\nInstalling, maintaining and inspecting ventilation, hand and power tools, fire extinguishers, air, water and drain lines;\r\nInstalling services, extending electrical and communication lines;\r\nConducting guarding, blasting, checking and cleaning drilled blast holes;\r\nPerforming basic maintenance on operating equipment (pre-start checks, refueling, lube fill, washing down);\r\nPerforming related duties and activities as directed by the Underground Supervisor or as required.\r\n\r\nAbout you\r\nTo be successfully considered for this role, you will have:\r\n\r\nStrong safety mindset;\r\nValid Driver's License;\r\nKeenness to work in an Underground mine environment;\r\nDemonstrated proficiency in multiple functional areas typically associated with underground mining;\r\nProven ability to operate various pieces of underground equipment safely and productively;\r\nUnderground Mining experience and/or Blasting certification will be highly regarded;\r\nSolid proficiency in reading and understanding manuals and written instructions;\r\nAbility to work in high stress situations and resolve issues;\r\nAbility to take initiative and work independently and as part of a team.\r\n\r\nNorthern residency and experience working in a cross-cultural environment, coupled with knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities presented to those living in the North, are assets.
