Ballard's Manufacturing Engineering Team has a position available for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in our new Burnaby facility. The successful candidate should have a track record of leading projects and developing/implementing new processes and equipment in a high volume automotive sector. Experience in process design and continuous improvement projects using tools and methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, QFD, FMEA, DOE, SPC, and Error Proofing is preferred. Establishing NPI processes with PPAP, SPC and MSA. Identify and justify projects to improve manufacturing capability, yields, productivity and capacity; Manage drawings, shop floor work instructions/build sheets, process flows, plant layouts, material handling and quality control systems. Process transfer and duplication between facilities. Acts as a technical mentor to junior technical staff by teaching/coaching others in area of expertise. Estimates budgets for each project including cost of personnel and materials. Interfaces with related departments on issues affecting functional area or project.
