The Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (OICR) is seeking Project Lead with the scientific and business management expertise to coordinate the development of a new province-wide initiative called the Association of Ontario Tumour Biobanks (AOTB). AOTB is a proposed network of Ontario-based oncology biobanks operating under a central coordinating centre at OICR. Reporting to the Provincial Principal Investigator (PI) and Associate Director of the Ontario Tumour Bank (OTB), the Project Lead will organize activities needed to form AOTB and facilitate communication amongst its members and stakeholders. The dietitian is responsible for providing medical nutrition therapy through primarily individual outpatient counselling with a focus on chronic disease prevention and management. This position also provides services in acute care, long term care, and acts as a consultant in food services. The successful candidate will have the ability to function independently and as a member of an interprofessional team in a culturally sensitive manner. Job Qualifications Required QualificationsBachelor Degree in Nutrition or DieteticsBasic Life Support (BLS) Instructor Certificate, or required to obtain within 1 year of employmentRegistered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Dietitians AssociationValid Class 5 driver's licenseExperience-Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) strongly recommended -Demonstrated knowledge related to chronic diseases and their management including diabetes, kidney, cardiovascular, respiratory and other chronic conditions. -Requires teaching/counselling/group facilitation abilities and skills, and an interest in patient education -Understanding of the social determinants of health and issues impacting Indigenous peoples -Ability to work effectively with a variety of clients, families, and other health disciplines -Experience in or understanding of program planning, management, and evaluation -Able to work with a team, with self-direction and minimal supervision -Fluency in Cree or Dene would be considered an asset, as would awareness of Indigenous culture(s) and cross-cultural dynamics Additional Information Recruitment, Relocation and Retention Incentives may be available up to $8,500.00 for a return for service commitment, along with a comprehensive benefit package.
