THE ROLE The Mechanical Design Engineer is aaccountable for design, development, installation and commissioning of plant and manufacturing equipment, field equipment, jigs & fixtures, and physical alterations to plant assets. What you'll bring to WSP: P.Eng. registration with PEO or another Canadian provincial Engineering Association.3+ years of experience in consulting mechanical design engineering for buildings with your P.Eng. certification.Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.Ability to represent WSP in project meetings and client meetings.Ability to deliver comprehensive design submissions, often with demanding timelines. Experience in assisting with the creation of tender document packages with drawings and specifications.Some experience with site reviews of building mechanical systems.A working understanding of building construction, building mechanical systems and controls.A working knowledge and understanding of Ontario Building Code, Ontario Plumbing Code, the National Building Code of Canada and CAN/CSA Z317.1 & 2, CSA-Z8000.Comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office, CARRIER HAP or TRANE Trace, AutoCAD and REVIT are required.
