Take your career to a whole new level with us and join our kitchen team.What you will be doingReview daily production sheets with the Chef de Partie/Sous Chef and prepare the necessary food items in accordance with standards in a timely and efficient fashion with no interruption to guest service.Adhere to standardized recipes and specifications in order to maintain consistency and luxury standardsAssumes responsibility for the operation of his/her station and ensures that opening, closing & hygiene procedures are carried out to corporate standardKeeps overproduction and food waste to a minimum, ensuring proper rotation, labeling, and storing of food in order to maintain food cost controls.•Operates all kitchen equipment, conduct themselves with safety in mind, reporting any deficiencies in kitchen equipment and quality of food to Chef de Partie/ Sous ChefComplete other job related duties as assigned by your supervisorPhysical Aspect of the Position (include but are not limited to):Constant standing and walking throughout shiftFrequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbsOccasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, liftingOccasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and rampsQualificationsYour experience and skills include:Minimum 3 years cooking experience in at least two different kitchen sections i.e. garde manger, banquets, a la carte, breakfast etc.Experience in a luxury hotel with comparable service and standards an assetRed Seal Certificate (Journeyman's papers) or Recognized International EquivalentExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAspires to become a Sous Chef with Fairmont Hotels and resortsMust be legally eligible to work in Canada.
