About Us In partnership with GE Hitachi and SNC-Lavalin, Aecon has executed a six-year alliance agreement with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) to deliver North Americas first grid-scale Small Modular Reactor (SMR) through the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP) in Clarington, Ontario. The work will be carried out under an Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) model. Beginning in 2023 Aecon will support the validation phase design, procurement, early site preparation and site mobilization scope for the Construction of the Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor at the Darlington site. What is the Opportunity? The primary function of this position is to ensure the timely delivery, receipt and processing of project materials, including permanenting & temporary plant materials, tools, consumables and engineered items. Ensure that all quality related materials are handled in accordance with the quality program, and ensure compliance with the storage of pressure boundary materials. Maintain effective communication between the project team, engineering, and procurement to ensure materials are delivered in accordance with the required quality requirements while adhering to the project schedule. Ensure all materials are signed into the Comprehensive Work Package in accordance with the Construction Installation Testing Plan prior to release of the material to the field. Liaise with Client authorized representatives, as required, for commitment approvals, reporting and issue resolution. Support Operations personnel with material and tooling logistics, on an as-needed basis. Review purchase requisitions and related documentation to ensure clarity and completeness with the description of materials, components or equipment, quantity, adherence to quality assurance requirements, and ensuring authorization from the project management team to proceed with the purchase. Primary Liaison to maintain effective communication between the project team, engineering, and procurement to ensure materials are purchased in accordance with the required quality requirements while adhering to the project schedule. Work closely with the Procurement team to develop reports and provide updates to the project team as required regarding material deliveries, delivery costs, and expedite costs. Ensuring quality, reliability and responsiveness to operational needs which meet or exceed organizational expectations. Monitor material deliveries in order to assist the procurement and materials management teams identify critical deliveries to site. Assist and participate in internal, third party and client Audits. Interface and provide direction to trade supervision as required. Expediting of materials as required. Assist the Procurement Department with supplier recommendations for materials or services Maintain official material receiving and vendor documentation in the electronic records management system. Lead the Materials Management group and provide the project team with material status updates. What You Bring to the Team: Minimum 3 years of engineering and/or construction project experience, experience in materials management, and logistics. Technical (Engineering or Engineering Technology) education an asset. Strong interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team. Ability to deliver and perform tasks with minimal supervision. Strong skills in MS Excel required. Knowledge of SharePoint and SAP applications an asset. Ability to identify Construction Materials and consumables. Knowledge of ASME Section III DIV I, N285, N286 codes and standards is an asset. ToolHound knowledge or experience an asset.
