Under minimal direction, is responsible for providing support to technical staff and perform Administrative duties as assigned by the customer and the Site Manager.ResponsibilitiesDispatches personnel or technicians to problems that occur on the conveyor line and create work orders for the repairs that are to be made.Work according to Company regulations and procedures, and instruction from Management.May provide telephone reception for the Maintenance site.Exercises initiative and judgment to see that issues requiring attention are referred to delegated authority or handled in a manner designed to minimize the effect to the conveyor line outages.Create, modify, and update databases / spreadsheets associated with the administration of the Maintenance Site, and maintains filing and reports relating to the conveyor line operation.Runs applicable reports for the customer when requested and/or scheduled.Maintains operational communication with the customer when needed.Documents the daily functions, outages and statistics of the conveyor system.Maintains accurate flight table with the assistance of the customer. Make any corrections on a temporary and/or permanent basis.Assists in clearing Jams from the baggage handling system.Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers, supervisors and the customer.May maintain parts inventory and be responsible for data entry in CMMS.Completes all safety training as assigned by the Company.Compliance with all ELS safety programs, policies and procedures.Perform additional duties/assignments that may be required by management from time to time.QualificationsHigh School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including weekends and holidays.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Previous experience in an Airport environment.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the customer, TSA and Air line representatives.Good knowledge of Industrial safety.Ability to type a minimum of 30 WPMAbility to speak clearly over a two-way radio systemExcellent customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills.Good computer skills (CMMS, MS Office, Baggage System User Interface)Previous experience with warehousing and inventoryKnowledge of baggage handling systemsAbility to pass a basic mechanical/electrical aptitude test. The Opportunity The Motor Winder will work with a small and dedicated team of mechanical professionals. Wind, assemble and install various types of coils. Test repaired motors, transformers, switchgear or other electrical apparatus to ensure proper performance. The Role In this exciting role, the EMST will perform all necessary operations required to service AC and DC Rotating apparatus with random or form wound stators, rotors or armatures. Perform all preliminary testing and results interpretation to determine the condition of equipment electrically, mechanically and have the ability to document/report findings in detail. Disassemble and documentation required for all types of AC,DC and rotating apparatus Inspect bearings, shafts, bushings, commutator etc., for wear and defects Perform all rewind operations on AC DC equipment Perform all electrical testing according to standard specifications VPI and Dip and bake operations Rotor balancing Re-assemble and documentation required for all types of AC,DC and rotating apparatus Final testing The Candidate Education: Trade certification, Electric Motor Systems Technician (EMST) Trade Certification would be an asset. Work Experience: 5+ years Knowledge: AC/DC hands on winding experience is required. Weld or braze components; Read electrical schematics, blueprints and other technical diagrams; Read and interpret blueprints/sketches/specifications; Instruct apprentices as required. The Opportunity The Electric Motor Systems Technician will work with a small and dedicated team of mechanical professionals. The Electric Motor Systems Technician will wind, assemble, and install various types of coils in addition, the EMST will be able to perform in-shop and field mechanical repairs and electrical testing . The Role Inspect various kinds of electro-mechanical equipment for damage and evidence of electrical malfunctions. Test condition of windings according to Company procedures and EASA standards. Illustrate and/or document all relevant data specific to unit’s electro-magnetic characteristics, operating conditions, existing damage, or intended serviceability. Dismantle and/or strip damaged or unserviceable electro-mechanical equipment. Prepare all reusable parts for rewinding and inspect renewed parts for hidden, structural damage or unusual conditions. Rewind various kinds of electro-mechanical equipment, including but not limited to: single-phase, three-phase, dc fields, armatures, wound rotors and transformers. Observe proper insulating techniques and/or requirements during rewinding. Test rewind electro-mechanical equipment according to Company Procedures and EASA Standards and document test results. Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis. Operate specialized repair and testing equipment, including but not limited to: winding machines, test panels, surge testers, core-loss testers, cut off saws, burnout ovens, bake ovens, grinders, cranes, forklift trucks, brazing units, dip tanks, VPI systems, and various handheld power and non-power tools. Actively participate in and adhere to The Company’s Health and Safety Management System Program and any/all legislative requirements relevant to your position and the work you perform. Keep work area neat and clean as directed by supervisor. The Candidate Education: Registered EMST Apprentice. Journeyman Red Seal, Electric Motor Systems Trade Certification or equivalent industry experience is considered an asset. Work Experience: 5 years or more years experience as a EMST Knowledge: Weld or braze components; Read electrical schematics, blueprints and other technical diagrams; Read and interpret blueprints/sketches/specifications; Mentor junior workers.
