The Opportunity The Motor Winder will work with a small and dedicated team of mechanical professionals. Wind, assemble and install various types of coils. Test repaired motors, transformers, switchgear or other electrical apparatus to ensure proper performance. The Role In this exciting role, the EMST will perform all necessary operations required to service AC and DC Rotating apparatus with random or form wound stators, rotors or armatures. Perform all preliminary testing and results interpretation to determine the condition of equipment electrically, mechanically and have the ability to document/report findings in detail. Disassemble and documentation required for all types of AC,DC and rotating apparatus Inspect bearings, shafts, bushings, commutator etc., for wear and defects Perform all rewind operations on AC DC equipment Perform all electrical testing according to standard specifications VPI and Dip and bake operations Rotor balancing Re-assemble and documentation required for all types of AC,DC and rotating apparatus Final testing The Candidate Education: Trade certification, Electric Motor Systems Technician (EMST) Trade Certification would be an asset. Work Experience: 5+ years Knowledge: AC/DC hands on winding experience is required. Weld or braze components; Read electrical schematics, blueprints and other technical diagrams; Read and interpret blueprints/sketches/specifications; Instruct apprentices as required.
