Senior Geologist - Orebody Knowledge

At Teck, we believe that a deep understanding of the orebodies that we mine, from accurate long-term geoscience models to short-term prediction of the concentrate grade we will recover, is essential to extracting maximum value from our assets. As Senior Geoscientist, OBK, you will play a pivotal role in finding opportunities and implementing initiatives that add quantifiable value to our projects through fundamental geoscience. You are the right fit for this role if you have in-depth knowledge of the challenges and opportunities that exist across the mining value chain, from resource definition through to mine closure. You have proven success in project management, implementing new technologies and workflows, from scoping, to contracting, through to operationalization. You are self-motivated and able to prioritize project work and initiatives through efficient time management and an awareness of the benefit of a minimum viable product. You have excellent data analysis skills, with extensive experience integrating different types of data (geochemistry, geology, geophysics, structure, images). You will demonstrate your excellent interpersonal skills by working closely, both in-person and online, with our advanced projects and operations teams located across the Americas.
