They are commissioned members of the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Branch of the CAF.Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Officers lead the soldier technicians who keep equipment in top condition and work in every equipment life-cycle phase, from design, evaluation and acquisition, to in-service support, to eventual disposal. Reporting into the Field Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the hands-on day-to-day integration, repair and maintenance of the Xplore network. You are a self-starter who works well both independently and as part of a greater team, with excellent organizational and communication skills. This position acts as a prime in-field technical contact for support groups in the areas of network construction, repair, maintenance and support. This role requires basic knowledge of IP Networking, working knowledge of both fixed wireless and Fibre optic network deployments, as well as a basic knowledge of telecom construction and tower rigging. This position will involve both on call support and off-hours maintenance work. Some overnight travel is a requirement and you must be willing to adapt to flexible work schedule.
