With a diverse fleet of 3,500 assets (including a full range of heavy, medium and light vehicles, trailers, forklifts and equipment), we are looking for a strong, technical leader, skilled in managing people, fleet-related processes and change across a large organization. You have a penchant for successfully building high-performing teams and supplier relationships; improving processes to drive increased value for the organization; and ensuring safety and reliability engineering are foundational in asset management solutions. Working collaboratively with colleagues in Fleet, Supply Chain and end-user teams - across organizational levels is a strength. You are passionate about understanding your end-users' working conditions and vehicle requirements, and ensuring that fit-for-purpose, cost-effective and safe vehicle solutions are delivered to meet the organization's operational needs. Qualifications: * A blend of business expertise (business degree or equivalent education/business experience) and technical expertise (professional engineer (mechanical or automotive preferred) is required. An MBA, PMP, Certified Automotive Fleet Management designation, Certified Public Fleet Professional designation, red- seal mechanic designation (or equivalent technical work experience in a fleet organization) would be an asset. * Minimum of eight years' experience working within a large, complex organization with multiple internal stakeholders, demonstrating increasing responsibility, progressive leadership and successful implementation of multi-faceted strategies * Minimum of three years' of management experience involving multiple internal stakeholders including unionized staff * Demonstrated ability to lead change, manage processes and achieve organizational results in fleet asset management and vehicle acquisition and remarketing, in dealing with a diverse fleet. Show us that you can diagnose and repair mobile equipment and we'll provide you access to a variety of machines that could use your skilled touch. This role is a full-time rotating, weekday schedule (two weeks of days, 2 weeks of afternoons, and two weeks of nights) Minimum of 40 hours per week with a rate starting at $46/hour. As a Certified Heavy Duty Mechanic, your responsibilities will include: Conduct regular maintenance checks on heavy-duty equipment, such as: Taylor, Kalmar & Warehouse forklifts Kenworth and Peterbilt chip trucks IMCO Chip trailers 966K loader 980H loader 988H loader Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns. Identify and troubleshoot problems with engines, transmissions, braking systems, and other components of heavy-duty equipment. Utilize diagnostic tools (ET) and technical manuals to pinpoint issues and develop effective repair solutions. Perform routine inspections and replace worn or damaged parts to prevent equipment failures and increase longevity. Use welding and fabrication skills to repair or modify equipment components. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including parts used, repairs made, and hours worked. Provide detailed reports on the condition of equipment, maintenance performed, and recommendations for future actions. Contacts vendors to provide parts quotes and lead times communicating this with your supervisor For this role, we are looking for candidates who have: Red Seal Certification Experience with hydraulics and welding Superior troubleshooting skills Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner Knowledge of Cat, Kalmar and Taylor equipment would be an asset The hourly rate for this position is: $46.08 Please Note: The wage provided is for base pay only.
