Nick Nosowenko is looking for 2 Thoroughbred Grooms and 2 Thoroughbred Exercise Riders for the 2024 Racing Seasons at Woodbine Racetrack (March 15 - December 15, 2024)Thoroughbred Groom - must have at least five years' experience with Thoroughbred Racehorses, be able to detect health and lameness issues at an early stage, be able to fit individual horses with all tack and equipment used in training and racing, safely apply all bandages required, oversee nutritional requirements of individual horses and race day prep. Grooms earn $16.93/hr. based on a 44 hour work week. Bonuses of 1% on horse's 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place earnings. Thoroughbred Exercise Rider - must have at least five years' experience with Thoroughbred Racehorses, be able to teach the young horses the skills needed to race safely and effectively, maintain the conditioning on the older horses, detect any lameness issues early, suggest changes to individual horse's training regime to benefit them, and clean and maintain the tack and equipment used in training and racing. Riders earn $22.57/hr. based upon a 33 hour work week. Bonuses of 1% on horse's 1st, 2nd and 3rd place earnings.

The OVC HSC has a varied patient base, thus RVTs may be assisting activities relating to both companion and large animals.
