 The Near North District School Board is Hiring!Summer Arts Programming (TOROS)Invites applications for the following position:  Rehearsal PianistEffective July 2, 2024 to August 12, 2024(Hiring for this position is based on student enrollment)Location: North Bay, West Ferris Secondary SchoolResponsibilities: Attend rehearsals to rehearse and accompany with vocalists when required.   Play piano in the pit band during all shows and production runs.  Strong communication skills required.  Music notations and editing as required.  Make decisions with the director and vocal director.  Must be available to accompany for information night, auditions and call backs.  Helpful if there is site reading ability to assist in audition process.   Qualifications: Previous performance experience is required.  Have extensive training in piano performance and deep technical knowledge of how to play different styles of music.  Demonstrated ability to read, write, and edit musical notation quickly and correctly.  Knowledge/Skills Required:  Ability to multi-task and take on other duties as assigned.  Strong leadership and communication skills.  Proven time management skills with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.  Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.  Rate of Pay: $1714.40 (80 hours @ $21.43 inclusive) A Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check (within 6 months) is required  All applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada The Near North District School Board is committed to supporting an inclusive and accessible environment.  Accessibility standards address issues that pose major barriers for people with disabilities (i.e. physical barrier, information or communication barrier, etc.).
