The Clerk III Nutrition Services may also be required to perform on call staffing duties for the Manager, Nutrition Services and additional duties as assigned. RESPONSIBILITIES: Overview: The following duties may be required depending on the site Coordinate and document staffing requests for shift trades and requested leave. Scheduling Nutrition Services staff and maintaining all related paper and electronic data in assigned sites. Accurately process patient/resident diet orders, including marking standard and therapeutic menus. Update computer/manual records to maintain an accurate file of patient/resident diet orders and related documentation. Communicate required information to other Nutrition Services staff. Interview patients/residents to determine food preferences and update computer/manual records accordingly. Check patient/resident meal trays:responsible for taste panel before beltline starts to check food quality and temperature; ensures that beltline starts on time; checks that patient/resident meal trays are accurate and neat in appearance. Coordinate all food, cleaning, paper and miscellaneous supply purchases required for Nutrition Services sites. Count food deliveries when on site. As point of first contact, the Nutrition Services Supervisor plans, organizes, coordinates and evaluates the operation of the department related to Nutrition Services at the facility level. These include participation in human resource management, fiscal management, information management, and environmental services management on a day to day basis. The Supervisor of Nutrition Services is responsible for personal professional development, and promotes ongoing staff development, and team building. The Nutrition Services Supervisor is responsible for performing the following activities according to related policies and procedures and any government regulations and legislation: all aspects of food service production and distribution to related areas with emphasis on portion control, waste control, proper sanitation and safety. The Nutrition Services Supervisor prepares all food according to menu and therapeutic specifications; monitors and ensures food is served at optimal temperatures and leftovers are properly used according to established regulations and policies. RESPONSIBILITIES: Overview: Ensures staff is scheduled on a daily basis in accordance with baseline budget and applicable overtime procedures. Assists in the effective and efficient provision of staff resources to meet department needs. Sanitation Manager

The Opportunity: The incumbent will be responsible for effectively supervising and controlling the cleaning and sanitation of processing equipment, utensils and the entire plant environment. The incumbent will guide and direct Sanitation Supervisors and hourly employees as the production facility is disassembled, cleaned, sanitized and reassembled in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and will audit the effectiveness of all sanitation activity on a daily basis. Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life: Manage, motivate and provide direct leadership to the sanitation staff Oversee the dismantling, cleaning, reassembly and sanitization of equipment, surfaces, utensils and plant environment by providing direction, working ‘hands on’ to motivate and provide technical support to all sanitation employees and other plant employees as required Oversee ATP swabbing and TPC swabs in accordance with prescribed schedule Plan sanitation requirements and activities by establishing priorities, scheduling, assigning work and communicating with sanitation staff and key stakeholders frequently and regularly within timelines Review pre-operational inspections on a daily basis in order to report non-compliance and take corrective actions to assure compliance to all quality assurance food safety requirements Complying with all relevant legislation including Occupational Health and Safety regulations, suitable candidates will be proactive in the elimination of workplace accidents and injuries Monitor, create and update Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and participate in audits Accountable for the result and action plans audits as they relate to sanitation Orient, train (one on one, or group training), develop, coach, discipline, respond to employee suggestions and concerns, provide feedback, administer employee time and attendance records and recognize employees in a timely manner Manage inventory and safely store sanitation agents and cleaning substances Maintain positive union and employee relations environment Liaise / work with 3rd party sanitation contractors and chemical supplier Technical staff to trouble shoot and eliminate root cause issues of non-conformities Support and execute the Company’s Food Safety programs at the facility in conjunction with Quality Assurance, Microbiology and Food Safety Other responsibilities as required Recognize, support and commit to the Safety promise What You’ll Bring: Relevant Post secondary education 5 years Management experience Knowledge and experience with Sanitation as it relates to Food Safety Aptitude for continuous learning Must be flexible to work varying shifts and weekends 3 years experience in food processing facility Proven leadership abilities Able to manage and build a team independently Detail and results oriented Strong ability to communicate Proficient in MS Office tools (Excel and Word).
