The primary responsibility of this position is to assess the suitability of all raw material used in downstream production of engineered wood products. Working with a variety of softwood species SPF, Douglas fir etc. you are required to assess and mark which components make the specification for the component and eliminate errors due to out of grade characteristics. In this position you are also responsible for the set up and safe operation of an advanced optimizing saw. This may encompass, but is not limited to: Operating machinery, which may include, but is not limited to: Re-saw and Chop Saw Assisting with the Lath Machine Operating a Forklift and Grader Managing the Package Saw Using the Chipper Operating the Trim Saw Perform a variety of labour duties to increase productivity and reduce safety risks Rotating through various job responsibilities and tasks within your assigned team on an hourly basis. Review work to ensure accuracy and precision. Adhering to schedules to maintain production timeliness. Apply your knowledge, skills, and experience to analyze, trouble shoot and communicate with your team lead and maintenance to get things back on track Taking responsibility for contributing to a safe work environment for coworkers, customers, and site visitors. Being open to performing other duties related to the position as necessary. The shift schedule is 2 weeks of day shift and then 2 weeks of night shift. The hours for each shift are Monday - Friday, 6am - 3:30pm and 4:00pm - 1:30am.Please Note: The range provided is for base salary only.
