The Yarmouth PMC group is looking for locums to help fill our schedule over the coming months, especially July to October, 2022. The stipend is $1800/day for work done 8am-5pm, and extra billing for assessments or deliveries after hours. You can choose to work one day at a time, or several in a row. The group runs a shared prenatal clinic with nurse and clerical support, providing prenatal and obstetrical care for 300 - 350 women per year. The clinic disperses the patients throughout the week from Monday to Friday, shifts are divided among the group. There is always an obstetrician on call for consultations, and pediatricians are on call 20 days per month. Anesthesia and respiratory therapists coverage as well. NRP is required. If you are interested in working in our very collegial hospital we are happy to work around your availability. The successful candidate will join a highly collegial and experienced group of physicians who are always available in an emergency. Position Summary: The Portage Clinic has an excellent opportunity for a full time General ENT Surgeon to join their team of two other General ENT Surgeons in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. Portage District General Hospital is an 88-bed hospital that services a population of approximately 50,000 in the Portage la Prairie area. Hospital services include two operating theatres, small procedure room, diagnostic imaging including CT and ultrasound, lab, hemodialysis, chemotherapy, obstetrics, 24-hour emergency department, and ICU. There is 24-hour general surgery and obstetrical coverage, and c-section care is currently provided by General Surgeons and a Family Practice Obstetrician. There are also two ENT surgeons, full time Radiology, and visiting Ophthalmology. Ground is about to be broken on a brand-new state of the art 114 bed hospital which will include three fully integrated laparoscopic suites and two endoscopy suites. Inpatient care is provided by hospitalists. Anesthesia is provided by Family Practice Anesthetists. The Portage District General Hospital Foundation is a strong supporter of the hospital and supports the initiation of new procedures and surgical programs. The successful candidate will have a broad-based skillset in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery. Surgical skills should include standard procedures, like tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, tympanostomy tube insertion, septoplasty endoscopic sinus surgery, treatment of epistaxis and peritonsillar abscesses as well as airway management. Ear surgery and allergy testing and treatment including immunotherapy is an asset but not required. On call services are compensated by stipend, and remuneration is fee for service. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join the Portage Clinic, a private clinic a short block from the hospital. The Portage Clinic is a fully established clinic servicing all doctors in Portage la Prairie with billing services, EMR, dictation services.
