Through community-based Family Justice Centres and Justice Access Centres, FJSD provides various in person and virtual programs and services, including initial needs determination, dispute resolution, Section 211 Family Law Act reports, and Parenting After Separation online courses.Maintenance Enforcement and Locate Services (MELS) is responsible for three program areas that assist families to receive the financial support they are entitled to under court orders or agreements. MELS also supports the work of the BC Family Maintenance Agency, a Crown Agency that monitors and recovers support payments owing under support orders/agreement that are filed with it.The Family Justice Counsellor dispute resolution dedicated position provides information, referral, needs assessment, mediation and short-term counselling to families experiencing separation or divorce. These services are provided to support families with family law issues and offer out-of-court processes for resolving family disputes (where appropriate).This role is responsible for screening all clients for dynamics of family violence, engages clients in immediate safety planning where necessary, makes referrals to appropriate community and legal resources, prepares documents and is responsible for documenting case management decisions.Job Requirements: A recognized undergraduate degree. *Note: Applicants who obtained their degree in a "foreign country" must have that degree evaluated through the International Credential Evaluation Service (ICES).
