Position Overview The Steam Generator Replacement Team (SGRT) project is a fully integrated Joint Venture of Aecon, United and Framatome, located in Kincardine, Ontario. SGRT is a part of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) project and includes the removal of the steam generators at Unit 3 and 4 and the installation of replacement steam generators with related plant modifications. This project is part of Bruce Powers Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Powers CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064. In addition to the existing contracts for Unit 3 and Unit 4, SGRT has signed a long-term Preferred Supplier Agreement for steam generator replacements at the plants remaining units as part of the Bruce Major Component Replacement project. The Quality Inspector, reporting to the Quality Supervisor, is responsible for the performance of all quality functions and duties as related to the SGRT construction activities. What You Will Do Here Participate in the execution of the Inspection and Test Plans. Perform quality inspection in accordance with the projects quality program, the related codes and customer specifications. Such inspections shall include but not be limited to: Dimensional inspections. Visual welding inspection. Work in assorted respirators (clean shaven as required) and plastics (as required). Radiological environments. Participate in the execution of the required inspections as outlined in the Construction and Inspection Test Plans. Review of Certified Material Test Reports as required. Perform internal weld monitoring as required. Complete all associated documentation and forms for individual inspections. Writing and tracking of non-conformance reports and corrective/preventative action requests. Support site QC activities associated with the project requirements. Other duties as assigned. What You Will Bring to the Team Graduate secondary school education in welding technology, QA/QC or a related discipline at the University or College level. W178 Level 2 Visual Weld inspection is required. Knowledgeable in ASME Code, B&PV plus Nuclear, CWB experience, and other Technical Standards and Codes associated with the project. Computer literate in MS Office. Previous experience in receiving inspections and controls within a Nuclear Qualified Program would be considered an asset. Good communication and organizational skills. Able to effectively interact with people at all levels of the organization with view to implementing quality requirements and objectives. Utilize project master schedule to create detailed look ahead schedules for forecasting and planning. Assist in developing recovery strategies when project schedule or budget are in jeopardy. Plan and approve the work of own forces and subcontractors on the project including determining methods of construction, manpower levels, materials, tools & equipment, rentals and work schedules. Assume responsibility for the efficient use of materials and equipment and contractual performance of the project. Ensure trades personnel complete all necessary training in areas of safety, quality assurance, technical qualifications, equipment operation and owner specified requirements.
