About Us As part of an alliance agreement Aecon Nuclear has been awarded a contract with Ontario Power Generation to support the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP). Complete all associated records to document the status and results of performed inspections. Understand and interpret technical drawings for civil works. What You Bring to the Table: Civil Engineering Technology Diploma or equivalent. A combination of education and industry experience will also be considered. 1-3 years experience in heavy civil and/or infrastructure construction. Previous experience with inspection and testing of concrete. Working knowledge on the CSA A23.1, CSA A23.2, CSA N291 and CSA N287 standards and other applicable building regulations. Working knowledge on the CSA W47.1 and CSA W59 standards. ACI/CCIL certification (preferred) CSA W178 Level 1 or 2 Visual Welding Inspection (preferred). Self-directed, motivated team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Proficiently with MS Office Suite. Understands design and construction requirements. Strong coordination and organization skills, with strict emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail. During the validation phase the Superintendent will assist in the construction planning and reviews. In execution they will be responsible for the supervision, coordination and scheduling of survey and inspection activities for multiple scopes of work in compliance with the contract and the job cost estimate and ensures all the work is completed safely to acceptable standards of quality and workmanship. What is the Opportunity? Accountable for survey planning and readiness on the Balance of Plant construction including methods of survey, manpower levels, materials, tools & equipment, rentals, and work schedules. Develop and monitor project survey readiness plans for heavy civil excavations, shoring, piling, monitoring and other site establishment scopes. Direct co-ordination of other civil survey resources such as subsurface utility investigations, boundary surveys, UAV missions, Bathymetric surveys. Direct and review completion of layout calculations, models and other digital survey data requirements. About Us As part of an alliance agreement Aecon Nuclear has been awarded a contract with Ontario Power Generation to support the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP). Reporting to the responsible Survey Civil Superintendent, this role will provide survey reporting and coordination within the DNNP BOP CCW Tunneling construction scope which includes shoring piling and excavation for two onshore shafts and their monitoring as well as a CCW tunnel scope. During the validation and execution phases, they will be responsible for the accurate calculation and reporting of survey work and quantities in compliance with the contract and the job cost estimate. What is the Opportunity? Prepare layout calculations and models from IFC drawings for use in survey instruments and project survey reporting and layout. Daily processing of survey data files to update surface and as-built models, updating progress and quality reports from models. Draft Initial planning and engineering sketches of existing site conditions and proposed CCW structures and surfaces for use by the site planning team. Distribute timely reports on projects progress of excavation, TBM advancement, under break/over break using project document control procedures. Create and update quality reports at specified intervals for shaft and tunnel monitoring requirements. What You'll Do Here: Understand how purchasing can enhance the enterprise, supply chain and competitive strategy. Develop detailed plans to optimize the delivery of equipment, materials, supplies and services for quality, cost and schedule.
