Provide technical and process support to field work, under Projects, Minor Modifications, and Work Order Holds, Address design related field issues. Leadership in initiatives that support improved current and long-term efficiencies and performance. Interface with external Design vendor partners. Supporting day-to-day and emergent issues. Plan, coordinate and conduct engineering assessments, studies, inspections, investigations, designs, and evaluations systems. Perform field inspections, acceptance, and approvals. Maintain written processes and procedures to reflect improved operating methods and additions to all supported systems; Maintain process compliance during project execution. Support engineering acceptance of modification turnovers. Provide Engineering Change Control guidance, provide active support to field issues and Field Initiated Changes, and facilitate a positive outcome with EPC vendors. Understand impacts on cost and schedule and provide support to minimize impacts driving projects. Gather input from stakeholder departments and agencies to ensure project and modification requirements are captured and detailed in the project documents. Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and government agencies as required. Respond to emergencies, equipment failure, unsatisfactory equipment performance, conduct field investigations, prepare reports, and recommend actions. Develop plans, standards and technical procedures for inspection, maintenance, and monitoring programs. EDUCATION 4-year university degree in Electrical/Instrumentation Control /Mechanical/Nuclear/Chemical Engineering.  Professional Engineer designation or Eligibility to become a Professional Engineer in Ontario an Asset.   QUALIFICATIONS Design experience required, preferably with OPG or Nuclear Industry. Experience with use of industry codes and standards. Knowledge of Canadian Electrical codes and IEEE standards will be beneficial. Knowledgeable in Machine design fundamentals (e.g., material selection, fastening); Mechanical engineering fundamentals (e.g., stress calculation); Mechanical (force/stress/deflection, thermal, leakage) calculations, analyses, and assessments.     Experience with ASME Section III and piping design are preferred. Depending on technical discipline, knowledge in one or more of the following areas is considered an asset : Process Engineering, Procurement, Nuclear system Design, equipment Sizing and Design, Pressure boundary, stress Analysis, Seismic qualifications. Knowledge of OPG’s ECC Process (Engineering Change Control) will be an asset. Experience and ability as a team player to understand and manage the interrelationships of various internal and external groups to facilitate objectives and ensure projects satisfy stakeholder requirements. Strong written and verbal communication skills (Including technical writing skills) and must be comfortable leading meetings and giving presentations. Have a strong interest in a fast-paced, challenging work environment where showing initiative and self-motivation are assets. Project Management, Leadership, and work coordination experience.
