BASIC QUALIFICATIONS• BA/BS degree in Architectural, Electrical Engineering, or Physical Security or equivalent experience• 10+ years' experience in physical security system design and engineering, 5+ years' experience with one or more drafting technologies such as, Revit, AutoCad, BlueBeam and others.DESCRIPTIONAWS Data Center Engineering team is looking for a highly talented and motivated Physical Security Architect /Engineer to work with on our data center design team, designing the data centers of tomorrow to maximize the effectiveness of the physical security program. The duties include extra-low voltage system design and engineering, working with the data center architectural and engineering teams to assure security best practices are observed, drafting new systems into the design teams build plans, and coordinating with regional and local physical security leaders to understand the new building and security system designs, adhering to the products on the AWS approved parts list. A successful candidate will be responsible for interpretation of Risk Assessments and Threat Analysis and AWS Physical Security Standards to assure the proper security technologies are selected to meet the unique challenges to be found in a global security program. After a new technology is introduced into the data center physical security standard, this position will be responsible for assuring the new system is incorporated into the larger data center basis of design. This role will also drive global standardization and will work with partner teams to innovate new data center security designs.Key job responsibilities• Design and engineer low voltage systems.• Using Blue Beam, Revit, BIM 360 and other drafting technologies to produce designs in Revit/CAD. This will also include working in collaboration with the relevant design teams.• Creation of specifications, template drawings and owners requirements documentation to use for vendor bids.• Provide technical and design support for physical security teams.• Coordinating with all the other disciplines in the design process of a new building (architectural, mechanical, electrical, civil, IT...).• Supervise and approve all designs deliverables developed by the physical security teams for projects at each milestones of a project.
