Tasks include the research, design, concept development, planning, and construction of facilities & roads with good familiarity with various engineering disciplines such as Structural, Geotechnical, Hydrotechnical, Traffic, Environmental Services. Ability and experience to substantiates reports and documentation to advise on material, installation, design, and construction specifications. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, and functionality. Assist in leading and continue developing the Civil/Highway design team. Providing guidance and mentoring of staff and direct work assignments. Maintain positive client relationships to expand current business. Participate / lead project tasks for conceptual and preliminary engineering and final design activities, as well as development of construction plans, calculations and specifications. Coordinate with Project Management as well as other engineering and technical design disciplines such as traffic, electrical, hydrotechnical, structures, environment, archeological, hydraulics and utilities, etc.. Participate hands-on in the preparation of RFP Responses to secure Design Assignments. Participate hands-on in preparation of Plans, Specifications and Estimates (Design and Construction Cost Estimating). Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.What you'll bring to WSP: Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering with Professional Engineering License in British Columbia. 7+ years of experience in large transportation and infrastructure projects; Significant experience leading design teams on Provincial, Federal and municipal projects (civil/highway design and plans production); Experience on coordinating and managing project teams on civil transportation projects. Experience with management and mentoring of project staff; Good understanding of QA / QC / QM as well as OH&S practices / requirements; Good working knowledge of TAC and BC Supplement to TAC design standards; Alternate Delivery (DB,DBB,P3,etc.) project experience is an asset; and Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's Health, Safety and Drug/Alcohol and harassment policies.
