A high level of judgment and professionalism is required because they serve as the main interface between the judiciary and the public and carry out an important gate-keeping role. The main function of Supreme Court Scheduling is to coordinate the scheduling of trials, hearings, and conferences on behalf of the judiciary. As such, the scheduling staff are part of the administration of justice and occupy a unique position in working closely with members of the judiciary and protecting judicial independence. The role requires staff to understand the role of the judiciary as an independent branch of government. Job Summary The OSM Ramper Clerk is responsible for various tasks associated with intermodal operational activities and works directly with Port Operators, Port Managers, and several other departments. The role supports ingate and outgate transactions at CN’s intermodal yards via gate software. Moreover, the position performs customer service duties that include assisting drivers, phone calls, and email responses as well as provides train journals to ensure that train crews have the proper documentation to travel safely and efficiently across the network. Major Responsibilities • Provide transactional service requirements to Operations • Validate and perform ramping for Ports and Terminals • Resolve and answer complex waybill and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) problems or inquires from various parties • Formulate office procedures Working Conditions • The role has Standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday • The role requires being available on-call 24/7 to respond to critical incidences • Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure and stress Requirements • Qualified OSM Ramper* • Training in Service Reliability Strategies (SRS) and procedures* • Certified under “Transportation of Dangerous Goods regulation” (Level 2 - TO4202)* • Completed the self-instruction module on the handling of dangerous goods* • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Automated Gate System (AGS) and Systems, Applications and Products (SAP) • Must be proficient in typing, operate a computer terminal, and common office equipment • Knowledge of transportation of dangerous goods regulations (TDG), dimensional loads regulations, applicable rules, tariffs and contracts of both carload and Intermodal shipments, including protection of all aspects of shipment movement information, Canada and the United States Customs reporting, and revenue protection requirements* • Knowledge of Waybill system including Data Warehouse, email, OASIS, and SRS* Intermodal Clerk 2 • Knowledge of the Electronic Commerce industry standards • Fluently bilingual both written and verbal (English and French) • Navigate efficiently through EDI viewer • Work without constant and direct supervision • Make informed and timely decisions • Display a customer-centric attitude *Any experience/education/skills/knowledge for these above would be considered as an asset Training The incumbent receives 2 months on-the-job training without formal classroom training.
