Responsibilities As the Equipment Operator 3 you will be responsible for driving, operating, transporting and light servicing of all equipment operated by the Surrey Parks Division and you will also perform manual construction, maintenance and cemetery tasks. The successful applicant will: • Operate machinery with complete efficiency and safety including, but not limited to: tractors, backhoes, skid loaders, mini excavators, two-ton trucks and truck mounted lifting cranes along with all related attachments. ensure all applicable City and Provincial procedures and regulations are adhered. • Train and instruct staff in the proficient and safe operation of a variety of machines and attachments • Team lead with the interment ground crew, and assisting with ground maintenance • Superior public relations and interpersonal skills • Interacting with clients in a professional, formal manner where the focus is on completing the task pleasantly and correctly. • Communicate directly with the grieving family members to establish their preferences and meet with the public to provide information & assistance relating to interments, available cemetery space and cemetery rules and regulations. • Plan, schedule and carry-out all work necessary to provide the key components of cemetery service including interments, disinterment, set up and take down, landscaping and memorial installations on a day to day basis. • Good physical condition with sufficient strength and stamina to perform heavy manual work outside in the presence of all types of weather conditions. • Demonstrate good computer skills in Microsoft Office and computer programs. • Strong organization and problem-solving skills. • Perform other cemetery-related work, as required. Qualifications • Completion of grade 12. • Three years previous driving and operating experience on a wide variety of machines used by the Parks Division. • Three years of Parks maintenance or construction experience. • Two courses related to Parks Maintenance and Construction. • Valid Class 3 B.C. About the Role This person is accountable to move finished goods into Warehouse locations from Production areas and receives incoming material from Vendors ensuring accuracy of goods. Movement of material both incoming (supplier and external) and outgoing (customer) in a safe, accurate, and efficient manner. Responsible to ensure all documentation is verified and accurate, and that material is scanned and stored in appropriate areas. Your Responsibilities Conducts all responsibilities in a safe manner, adhering to Dortec safety standards/rules at all times Receives and inspects incoming materials, supplies, parts and components to ensure quantity and description match packing slip Moves shipped/received material to appropriate location Ensures expedited components are delivered to assembly immediately Conducts daily inspections of material handling equipment according to prescribed standards and procedures Is accountable for ensuring lot control procedures are followed Is accountable for performing vendor audits for both documentation and/or packaging requirements Ensures that all product shipped is verified prior to shipping Maintains key internal relationships with vendor contracts for outside processing and incoming freight carriers Is accountable for maintaining all shipping/receiving procedures for purchased and stamped components and finished goods Is accountable for recording, signing/authorizing and ensuring accuracy of information on all shipping/receiving documentation. Must sign-off on final packing slip/ B.O.L. (Bill of Lading), after verifying shipment Enters receiving into Canadian Manufacturing System (CMS) Prepares/generates Bill of Lading (B.O.L.) for vendors and customers when required Follows First in, First out (FIFO) procedures Conducts daily cycle counts as prescribed by inventory control Maintain and replenish grease and packaging based on assigned minimum and maximum levels on packaging Assists with Coil receiving and performs other duties as required Conduct Bin range Cycle counts as prescribed by Inventory Control Analyst Scan Material serial labels as material movement occurs to maintain inventory accuracy Who we are looking for Certified Tow-Motor/Forklift and Reach Truck Operator Must have a valid Ontario Class G driver's license Have used RF Scanning Equipment - Preferred Experience with cycle counting and scanning as well as courses in Materials Management are preferred. Your preferred qualifications Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or General Educational Development (Preferred) 2-5 Years of Experience working in Manufacturing environment.
