Exceldor Cooperative is looking for two Project Officers – R&D and Innovation to support the operations of its Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville plant. Part of the Quality, R&D, and Animal Welfare department, they will respond directly to the Director of R&D and Innovation. The main mandate of the R&D and Innovation Project Officers will be to independently manage research and development projects related to the design of new products, the improvement of existing products, and the optimization of product processes to meet the needs of internal and external clients.More specifically, the incumbents:Actively contribute to Exceldor’s growth by generating volume, margin and cost savings;Organize, lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams according to the company’s priorities;Ensure the management and follow-up of the projects entrusted to them;Liaise with the various departments involved in product development and other projects to deliver expected results (product, costs, earnings, etc.), within the expected timeframe;Ensure that updates on projects are communicated to the various stakeholders;Develop new product formulation based on business strategy;Ensure that product specifications are viable and meet the expressed need of the internal/external client, that cost and profitability meet the target and that timelines are respected;Conduct laboratory testing, coordinate and conduct production testing;Solve product development problems;Analyze results, write technical reports and make recommendations;Lead the organization and functioning of the internal sensory evaluation panel;Research external resources (suppliers, research centres, etc.) and meet with them to evaluate the recommendation of new ingredient suppliers and concepts. FSQA Technician - Contract

The Opportunity: The successful candidate will be responsible to ensure that all Food Safety, GMP, HACCP and other Quality Assurance Program requirements are consistently achieved with a sense of urgency at the facility. In addition, the candidate is responsible for ensuring a safe, cost effective and service-oriented department, while providing Values-Based Leadership at the facility. Write and revise FSQA SOPs including maintenance of the product SOPs, FSQA SOPs and electronic directories. Maintain and deliver GMP Training and CCP presentations as a member of the plant new hire orientation program. Conduct HACCP reassessment, monitoring, and verification to meet regulatory requirements including updates to forms, documents, and programs as required. As a member of the cross-functional team, investigate, document (In SAP Non-conformance system) and establish/implement appropriate corrective action to address deviations related to all programs with specific focus on foreign material and quality critical non-conformances. Maintain hold and release databases - internal and SAP. In-depth analysis of CTQ (Critical to Quality) data as collected in SAP including tracking and trending for interpretation and development of actions to address deviations. Support all aspects of audit preparation and execution including documentation, preparation, program review, on-site inspection, training and other duties as required. Collect samples and conduct raw material sensory assessment and communicate results to Operations. Perform other SAP functions as required such as hold/release program, inspection lot oversight, usage decisions, etc. Provide support to hourly Production Operators in delivery of FSQA procedures. Participate in Period review, Town Hall meetings, other communication sessions. Assist CFIA inspectors with CVS tasks or other support as requested. Participate in Six Sigma projects. Perform other duties as assigned. What You’ll Bring: Bachelor of Science or College Diploma in Food Safety/Science program or equivalent experience. 1-3 years previous experience in a technical food manufacturing role is preferred. The Director of Ontario Veterinary College Advancement has accountability for alumni engagement, annual, major, principal and planned gift fundraising for the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC). They will also liaise with various AHJs, e.g. the (Ontario) Ministry of the Environment, Conservation & Parks (MOECP), and the City of Guelph. The faculty and staff positions will be filled in areas that support the advancement of Black and Indigenous academic excellence and the University of Guelph’s commitments to inclusion, anti-racism, Indigenization and decolonization. The Educational Developer, Indigenous Knowledges and Pedagogies, is an integral member of the Office of Teaching and Learning (OTL) team. OTL supports the University’s pedagogical mission and provides expertise to sustain a focus on the complex educational landscape that our faculty, instructors and learners experience. An important part of our mandate is supporting instructors in their development as expert teachers and facilitating and supporting a community of practice in which dedicated teachers interact, learn and support each other. We offer an extensive range of programming and collaborate and partner with individual faculty, academic departments, academic support units and the broader community to enrich and innovate teaching with the goal of creating an educational environment where students are academically challenged, actively engaged, and personally supported. As a dynamic group with diverse backgrounds and experiences, the OTL team takes a highly collaborative approach to our work. We are currently building our team’s expertise in indigenization, equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility with two positions through the Black and Indigenous Hiring Initiative. The Educational Developer, Indigenous Knowledges and Pedagogies, will work directly with faculty, instructors, teaching assistants, staff, and other Educational Developers to guide and advance Indigenous perspectives, pedagogies, and practices and decolonization of curriculum, courses, and assessment across the University. They will work closely in partnership with the Office of Indigenous Initiatives and the Office of Academic Equity and Anti-Racism. Activities include the following broadly: In collaboration with other educational developers, plan, implement, and evaluate programs that support faculty, instructors, and teaching assistants in their efforts to decolonize curriculum and integrate Indigenous knowledge, Indigenous histories/current experiences, Indigenous excellence and achievements, methodologies, and Indigenous ways of knowing into courses and programs. Support instructors seeking consultations to enhance individual courses, assessments, and/or teaching approaches by building on Indigenization and decolonization frameworks. Develop resources related to aspects of curriculum and course design and development to enhance knowledge of Indigenous peoples, knowledges, languages, ways of knowing, methodologies, and pedagogical approaches. Provide consultations and programming to departments and programs seeking to transform curriculum via redesign or new program development, related to the incorporation and alignment of Indigenous knowledges, languages, ways of knowing and pedagogical practices into program and course design. Provide leadership for the University of Guelph community with respect to educational and faculty development, engaging OTL staff and other campus offices in critical reflection of pedagogical and educational development practices and programming to advance Indigenous perspectives, pedagogies, and practices. Work with collaborating Offices (including the Offices of Quality Assurance, and Diversity and Human Rights) to identify and establish related and complementary working practices and enrichment opportunities for curriculum and pedagogy. Contribute to strategic new developments at the University that embeds deep, ethical and meaningful decolonizing and Indigenizing approaches. Conduct program evaluation to assess the efficacy, benefits, and impact of educational transformations, and to inform how we advance our practices and efforts. Engage individually and collaboratively on research or scholarship of teaching and learning. Through research and collaboration, we engage in scholarship to advance the teaching and learning mandate of the University. Reporting to the Associate Director, Distance Education, the On-Line Quality Assurance Specialist (OLQAS) is accountable for the quality assurance of all online offerings offered through OpenEd. The OLQAS ensures that the University’s distance education courses are reflective of the Institution’s stated Best Practices in Distance Education - namely that these courses be pedagogically-sound, learner-centered, engaging, and interactive. The successful candidate is responsible for quality assurance reviews on a portfolio of online offerings. As such, the position is accountable for developing, revising, maintaining, and implementing quality assurance protocols to ensure that online course content included in new or revised courses is accurate and consistent and meets defined pedagogical, technical, and aesthetic standards. The OLQAS conducts comprehensive technical testing, editing, and proofreading of all course components to ensure readiness of each course for the start of the term. Each semester, the OLQAS is responsible for facilitating the course preparation process, assessing incoming work and working closely with instructors to prepare courses in order to establish revision objectives, communicate deadlines and negotiate an appropriate work schedule for each course. The OLQAS is the project manager for a portfolio of course revision work and works closely with faculty, the Distance Learning Program Development Specialist and Teaching and Learning Technology teams to ensure that online course content is complete, accurate, consistent, and free of copyright violation and takes corrective action as required. This position is responsible for maintaining a historical record of course information in a shared database, including the scope and nature of course revisions. The OLQAS is also involved in conducting summative evaluations with the intent of recommending and implementing instructional design enhancements to improve the teaching and learning experience. Given the exposure across a wide variety of online courses, the OLQAS identifies and documents best practices that exist in current courses that may be transferable to other offerings. As required, the incumbent of this position assesses, applies, conducts and disseminates research findings in quality assurance in online learning and distance education, prepares research proposals, and participates in funded research and development programs. Requirements of the position include a Master’s degree in a related field (Distance Education, Educational technology, Instructional Design, Adult Education) and a minimum of 3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience; demonstrated expertise in instructional design, pedagogy, online distance education, instructional technology, adult education, course design, and evaluation; excellent communication skills (visual, written and oral), editing and proofreading skills, organizational, time management and interpersonal skills required; strong computer and word processing skills and familiarity with Learning Management Systems.
