The office is well established in an ideal location just a few minutes from Hwy 101 in New Minas and serves a population of approximately 110,000 centered in Kings County. The position is suited to a true comprehensive ophthalmologist as the current practice provides general ophthalmic care for medical glaucoma and retina, cornea, uveitis, low vision, lids and cataracts, and has a strong pediatric service with some strabismus surgery. Interest or additional training in glaucoma and/or oculoplastics would be an asset. The office was renovated in 2008 and is a 6,000 sq. ft. ambulatory care facility with seven lanes and a minor procedure room equipped with a microscope. Experienced and well-trained clinical staff includes technicians, three orthoptists and administrative staff, who provide patient care and technical support with in-house Zeiss Cirrus OCT, Canon retinal camera, Optos, A- and B-Scans, IOL Master 500, specular microscope, topographer, Humphrey and Goldmann visual field machines, and Argon, SLT and YAG lasers. The OR, located at a local community hospital Soldiers Memorial (SMH) in Middleton, has a new Alcon microscope and Centurion and an outstanding surgical support staff, including an anesthetist. There is one full day per week of OR time available for cataract surgery. Ensures that the Simulation Laboratories, Simulation Suites and Home Health Labs are safe and clean by reviewing the rooms on a daily basis, ensuring hospital beds are made, manikins are in chairs or on the bed, no equipment is left in hazardous ways, and sharp tools/objects are properly dispose of;c. Prepares Simulation Laboratory room divider schedule for each semester and consults with Facilities to ensure the schedule is received and assigned to the Building Support Workers;d. Collaborates with the Administrative Assistant and the Program Support and Services Specialist in scheduling and coordinating the use of the Simulation Laboratories, Simulation Suites, Home Health Labs and Therapeutic Communication Suites;e. Coordinates and supports external vendors with complex repairs and troubleshooting of the simulators, task trainers and other specialized equipment;d. Maintains the MediaSite scheduling system and inventory for FHS programs to ensure all mediasite links are created for faculty and are in the correct folders;e. Archives all MediaSite after each semester is complete;f. Consults with the Education Technology Coordinator on MediaSite site related issues that are not solvable and require external repair by the vendor;g. Liaises and consults with CEIT staff in relation to use, training and maintenance of the MediaSite system and interrelated technologies to ensure they are always up to date with new upgrades/versions of MediaSite;h. Revises, maintains and updates all lab materials to ensure that medications, amounts, types, patient information, and scenario-based information is complete and accurate;c. You will be responsible for the operation of 3 and 5-axis CNC machines by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Operate machining equipment utilized by the organization to ensure equipment operations are at accepted standards for the type of tooling used.Study and interpret drawings, blueprints, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, tools to be used, materials for the job, and setup requirements.Verify machined parts using precision measuring instruments.Ensure work-piece dimensions are correct and establish tolerance criteria.Measure, examine, and test completed parts - identifying defects and ensuring conformance to specifications and blueprints.Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly, and performing basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.Will be required to adhere and comply with provincial and federal law, the Company ISO Quality Program and procedures, company policies, and applicable Safety and Environmental Regulations.Compute dimensions and tolerances, and measure and lay out work pieces. Requirements:Minimum of 3 years experience operating 3 and 4 Axis CNC milling machines in a production/manufacturing environment.Knowledge of reading drawings and specifications with an intermediate understanding of geometric tolerance and dimensions.Ability to read and interpret blueprints.Knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments. Certified to CCIL Aggregate and Asphalt Testing for Laboratory. Familiar with civil engineering construction QA/QC inspection and test standards and procedures to ASTM and CSA standards.
