Location Musselwhite site Purpose To oversee the coordination of mobile maintenance resources in a safe and cost effective way to ensure that mining achieves budgeted production and, with the aim of maintaining and improving asset performance in terms of safety, production cost control and sustainability. To manage the activities of the mobile Maintenance Department and optimize overall equipment effectiveness. Responsibilities Implement mobile maintenance strategies, systems and standards for site to reduce risk and variation. Provide site-wide management and leadership for the successful implementation of the reliability-focused mobile maintenance management operating system. Report performance of the team using key performance indicators, with emphasis on continuous improvement and trend analysis. Implement project recommendations where deemed beneficial eg AMS, Hazop, risk contingency planning, excavation procedure, documentation of engineering and maintenance systems. Review mobile maintenance contract and consideration / advice of whether mobile maintenance could be done better in-house. Follow-up on recommendations of the insurance auditors report and provide advice concerning value and priority of initiatives. Assist with the development, and provide leadership to implement the property-wide asset management system. Stay abreast of current advances in applications of technology to asset management. Ensure maintenance of site mobile assets. Manage process to select and implement or purchase new assets. Manage life of site asset for mobile equipment. Oversee schedule and breakdown maintenance and repairs for all surface and underground mobile equipment on-site. Build an appropriate team through recruitment and development. Provide clear work objectives and expectations of the performance levels required to achieve business plans and production targets. Ensure that training is provided in accordance with the current and future needs of the mine. Ensure the required manpower and equipment are in place to achieve planned production, while meeting planned costs. Manage performance by setting expectations, conducting performance reviews, and providing feedback and coaching to direct reports. Collaborate with HR with any employee relations issues Promote and maintain a high performance culture. Requirements Interacts and provides leadership to mobile supervisors. Responsible for various leadership functions including reviewing complex work, providing direction, assigning tasks, monitoring progress and assessing performance. University degree in mechanical, industrial or electrical engineering or combination of relevant education and experience. Eight to twelve years of operations experience and a proven successful track record in heavy industry or mining maintenance. Minimum of five years of supervisory experience.
