The Maples is a designated provincial mental health facility providing on-site, community, outreach and ancillary services to collaboratively support youth, families and communities. The Maples Adolescent Treatment Centre works with youth in British Columbia with enduing and severe mental health and behavioural difficulties, ages 7 to 17 (up to the 18th birthday), as well as youth found Not Criminally Responsible by Reason of a Mental Disorder (NCRMD) or unfit to stand trial. Additional services include community consultation service, training/capacity building opportunities and ongoing sharing of current literature. Through a multi-disciplinary approach, our objective is to collaboratively enhance the capacity of communities to plan and care for challenging youth through a closer to home focus. On-site programs provide a period of clinical evaluation, stabilization, intervention and follow-up in a structured setting as well as support for families/caregivers and the development of a plan of care. Program areas operate with a multidisciplinary team of social workers, psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses and childcare counsellors. Community programs are similarly configured but delivered within the home community. The constellation of services offered include medical/psychiatric evaluation; multi-disciplinary assessment and plans of care; family therapy, education and support; educational opportunities through Burnaby School District; vocational, recreational and social interactive experiences; on-going outreach and respite services; on-going program evaluation.The Program Coordinator for Intake and Clinical Services provides an important provincial role, leading how referrals are managed and ensuring the smooth coordination of the Intake Committee. The Program Coordinator assigns Social Workers and Clinicians to Maples programs, groups, and individuals/families to facilitate admission processes and ensure continuity of care for young people. The Program Coordinator provides leadership and oversight for Social Workers and Clinicians ensuring quality clinical programming, assessments, and practices. The Program Coordinator also has an important role in ensuring the rights of young people are upheld, Mental Health Act processes are followed, clinical treatment and safety plans are in place and services are coordinated with the community.Job Requirements: Masters Degree in Social Work (Clinical Specialty or equivalent training/education), Educational Counselling, Clinical Psychology, Child and Youth Care, or equivalent. Experience, skills and qualifications: The preferred candidate will have: Undergraduate degree along with at least 6 years of relevant experience; a Certified Fund Raising Executive designation is considered an asset; Demonstrated progressive experience in fundraising, with a proven track record of success securing principal and major ($1M+) gifts from a variety of stakeholders.
