What You'll Do Here: Participate in developing, establishing and maintaining the companys project cost control systems. Assist the project team in setting up the project WBS, project cost codes, and the project baseline Budget. Monitor the project performance and ensure that the project controls system is properly implemented. Train the project team on how to implement and maintain the prescribed change management procedures. Provide Aecon management team with all the required project controls summary reports and analyses. Review the project contract and ensure that all the contract conditions (invoicing, reporting and all related issues) are applied and fulfilled when setting up the project within Aecons project controls system. Participate in setting up and controlling the project structure(WBS) and related cost structure (CBS). Participate in the coordination between estimating and site to ensure that the project controls system is properly implemented. Monitor the change management system on site by making sure that the project staff understands the system and how the changes should be managed and tracked on site and within Aecons systems. Ensure that the project site staff and crew understands the cost code structure of the project and that they are charging their expended hours to the correct codes. Review and analyze the project controls reports (i.e. progress and productivity) with the Project Controls Lead and the project team and suggest corrective actions to maintain expected performance and productivity (target PF=1). Review and analyze the project scheduling and cost reports and suggest corrective actions to maintain the project within planned cost and schedule. Prepare and update project cash flows as required throughout the project life-cycle. Supervise and mentor developing Project Controls Analysts. Assist the project manager in preparing project monthly reports and forecasting. Assist the project scheduler and the project team in preparing, reviewing and maintaining the project schedule. Bilingual Lead Planner

FLEXIBLE LOCATIONS - MONTREAL REGION Reporting to the Project Control Manager, the bilingual (French/English) Lead Planner will support the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, change management, project monitoring, and project control reporting. The hands-on planner's main role will be establishing a Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) and monitoring the progress during all phases of projects. The successful candidate will also be required to generate initial schedules, develop detailed schedules, and create schedule impact scenarios (before and after), maintain baselines, provide inputs to schedule variance analysis as well as support the business development team with planning / scheduling needs during proposals development.As a member of the national ERI group, you will have the opportunity to apply your training and experience to complex projects. You will be challenged to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain a very high level of quality. You will gain knowledge through available mentoring and training programs. Aecon is seeking a Planning/Scheduling Lead to join the Urban Transportations Solutions group to support dynamic, transit projects in Canada. What You'll Do Here: Overall responsibility for project's compliance to Aecon's Project Controls standards & applicable contract documents. Develop and maintain all the required project schedules and ensure integrity of data across the entire project life cycle. Forecast the requirement of various resources including labor, materials, and equipment over the project based on work fronts analysis. Establish productivity basis to be utilized in estimates, as developed in concurrence with Construction. Prepare required progress reports and dashboards to provide project status updates to all internal and external clients. Implement & maintain an Earned Value Management plan to measure project performance, identify variances, and inform accurate forecasting. Manage schedule change notices and forecast project impact. Implement corrective action when performance trends deviate from baseline. Perform audits on various schedules including those produced by subcontractors, prepare all required output documents. Provide input into the continuous improvement of Aecon's Project Controls policies and guidelines. Collaborate with all cross functional teams to maintain, add, or modify the schedule data and plans. Oversee and support schedule 5D integration process with the 3D model and cost and report the outputs which includes cash flow and sequence simulations. Oversee and support project change management, including subcontractor claims, change requests, claims and dispute resolution. Provide commercial and technical expertise to support proposal development and provide commercial input into contractually defined project control requirements. Ensure adherence to all contract conditions regarding Project Controls requirements, project set-up, monitoring & close-out. Identify commercial/schedule risks and develops mitigation measures to ensure timely and high-quality planning and scheduling-related deliverables. Understand Monte Carlo risk analysis process and contribute to Risk Mitigation Plan. Hire, supervise, coach, develop and mentor project controls personnel (i.e. Project Planning and Scheduling Specialist, Lead, Planner / Scheduler). What You'll Bring to The Team: Undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience. 8-10 years rail transit industry experience. Proven experience and ability in planning, scheduling and managing complex projects. Strong knowledge of the Earned Value Management principles. Proven ability to effectively lead project planning and scheduling staff. Proven problem solver with sound judgment who accepts ownership and accountability. Expert level knowledge of project Planning and Scheduling software which may include Primavera P6 & TILOS. SAP, Hard Dollar, PowerBI, and Synchro knowledge will be an asset. About Us As part of an alliance agreement Aecon Nuclear has been awarded a contract with Ontario Power Generation to support the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP). Beginning in 2023 Aecon will support the validation phase design, procurement, early site preparation and site mobilization scope for the Construction of the Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor at the Darlington site. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the SR Purchasing Agent is responsible for the negotiation and purchase of various commodities, equipment, and services for sites and projects while ensuring that the best value is obtained and procurement processes are followed. What is the Opportunity? Primary responsibility is solicitation of vendor pricing, negotiation and procurement of subcontracted services, equipment, material & components as well as Nuclear safety related materials & components primarily for use in Nuclear Power Plants in Canada. This may include but not limited to: plate, structural steel, pipe, tubing, fittings, valves, weld consumables, electrical components & supplies, and personal protective wear. Review of purchase requisitions and related documentation to ensure clarity and completeness with the description of materials, components or equipment, quantity, adherence to quality assurance requirements, proper authorization of funding, delivery requirements, & desired mode of transportation. Preparation and issuance of standard and quality related Request for Quotation (RFQ/RFPs) to qualified vendors based on Aecons Approved Suppliers List (ASL). Provide assistance to the Procurement Manager to develop project specific procurement plans or as assigned, take the lead in developing such plans. Working with project schedulers and project managers to monitor and update major procurement package progress in P6 schedule. Negotiation or providing assistance with the negotiation for major contracts of best price, delivery, terms of payment and purchase conditions, tax exemptions, price escalation, and other factors impacting the supply of material or components. Assisting the Procurement Manager to develop and implement detailed strategies for procurement, including cost reduction strategies to meet organizational goals and objectives. Working with Aecon Operations personnel and supporting regional offices in obtaining materials required as needed. Support estimating team with pricing at tendering stage. Ensuring quality, reliability and responsiveness to operational needs which meet or exceed organizational expectations. Logistics management including expediting for critical site deliveries. Accountability to ensure our internal clients are serviced beyond normal business hours. Ensure training on the Aecon Quality assurance manual is accurate and up to date. What You Bring to the Table: 5+ years experience in the Nuclear Construction Industry in a procurement role or 8+ years experience in a conventional procurement role. Completion of Materials and Operations Management Program at the College or University Level an asset Enrollment in or completion of PMACs Accreditation Program is preferred Microsoft Office Products Working knowledge of OPG and Bruce Power Passport system would be considered an asset. Working knowledge of Nuclear Codes & Standards as they relate to procurement activities, These may include but not be limited to: ASME Section III, ASME NCA-4000, ASME NQA-1, CSA N285.0, CSA N286-05, and CSA Z299/N299 Series. Basic knowledge of other material or component codes and standards would be an asset. These may include but not be limited to: ASME Section II & ASME SECTION III, ASTM, & CSA.
