The Role The Student Research Assistant, FEMMSS8 will provide support to supervisor in monitoring a Discord Server for two weeks. Offer support during a two-day workshop on feminist theory and technology.Responsibilities •One week before the workshop, set up and monitor a Discord server for workshop attendees and participants to ask questions, make connections, and collaborate on material before and for a week after the workshop. •Assisting the supervisor to answer workshop attendees' emails one week prior to and during the two-day workshop. •To provide support to monitor a zoom room over the course of a two-day workshop, keeping an eye on the chat, answering questions as applicable, and helping with any troubleshooting if there are technical difficulties. To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need •An interest in Technology and Feminist Thought. •Strong written and verbal English communication skills. •Ability to work independently. •Experience setting up and moderating a Discord server. •Familiarity with Zoom is an asset, but not required, as there will be support people from Academic Technology Services present. Domestic students must meet ONE of the following criteria, to be eligible to work as a Student Assistant/Student Research Assistant: 1. The domestic student must be enrolled in, and maintain, a minimum of one or more (3 credit) courses at Douglas College throughout the work term; OR2.
