In accordance with the established vision and values of Northern Health, the Pharmacist provides distribution pharmacy services by performing duties such as interpreting medication orders/prescriptions, assessing prescriptions for therapeutic suitability, and ensuring that medications are efficiently and accurately dispensed and/or compounded and labelled and that dispensing records are complete. Communicates with physicians, patients, and/or other health care team members for prescription clarification and problem resolution. Participates in the collection of data for medication use evaluation projects, implementation of dispensary-based medication safety initiatives, quality control activities, contributes to internal publications and participates in clinical drug trials in accordance with established standards and procedures. Additionally, the pharmacist will work collaboratively with members of the healthcare team to identify and resolve drug therapy problems and achieve patient care outcomes.Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days - 07:30 to 15:30, 08:00 to 16:00, 08:30 to 16:30. Effective in the Fall, rotations will change to include weekend shifts. There may also be an opportunity to work in Prince Rupert for up to one year (not required). Mills Memorial Hospital is a 52 acute care bed hospital and provides the only inpatient psychiatric unit in the northwest. They offer emergency services, and has a diagnostic and specialist center which includes CT scan and nuclear medicine. Visiting specialists come for obstetrics/gynecology, psychiatry, general surgery, urology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, anaesthetics, radiology, nuclear medicine, pathology, otorhinolaryngology (ENT), podiatry, pediatrics and internal medicine.
