Key Responsibilities Completion of design drawings, quantity calculations and as-built drawings for projects within various work types using various software packages (e.g. AutoCAD, Microstation, Bluebeam Revu, Quick Pole, SPIDA Calc, Pull Planner, Civil 3D, Tremble Business Center) Ability to interpret field survey data, coordinate and communicate with field survey crews Provide calculations and assist with day to day work flows to field staff Prepare 3D models for use in GPS and Machine Control applications as applicable to work / project type Prepare engineering and survey plans Maintain accurate survey and drawing records, documentation and submittals Read, understand and generate Request for Information (RFIs) and maintain records as applicable to work / project type Define the scope of work and provide layout information at various stages of construction Calculate volumes using various software and methods Maintain as-built records Interpret and adhere to legislative, project and code requirements and clients specifications (e.g. Ontario Standard Drawings) Conduct QC verification on drawings / designs Required Knowledge and Experience Minimum of one year of AutoCAD drafting experience Post-secondary education in Civil / Mechanical Engineering, Geomatics or design field, or equivalent experience CET certified or CET eligible is an asset Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings Strong proficiency with AutoCAD software and experience customizing AutoCAD, scripts, tools and Menus Good understanding of how to read civil engineering drawings and site plans Proficient with the use of computers and software, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) Excellent verbal, written and communication skills Self-motivated, ability to learn new skills, assume new responsibilities and work cooperatively in a team environment Experience working with government bodies and familiar with legislative requirements (e.g. Ministry of Transportation, city permit applications) Strong attention to detail Necessary Competencies Collaboration Motivates others and builds trust and confidence among team members Able to work with and communicate to internal stakeholders (e.g. project management/operations teams) Character based leadership Integrity, Humility, Transparency, Courage, Drive, Energy, Passion, Curiosity to Learn Ambassador for the company internally and externally Lives the Aecon Leadership Expectations Aecon fosters diversity, inclusion and belonging within and across our organization.
