Building Control Systems Technologist

Duties:Reporting to the Manager, Operations and working alongside the HVAC&R Mechanic and Power Engineer, the Building Control Systems Technologist will play a key role in ensuring the facility is able to run at optimal comfort and efficiency levels with minimal downtime. Opportunity to work as a Project Coordinator with a growing civil contractor based in Abbotsford ABOUT OUR CLIENT Our client has been working in the Lower Mainland for nearly 50 years and began as a family start up. They specialise in infrastructure, site preparation, excavation, utilities and environmental. They are based in Fraser Valley but have projects throughout the Lower Mainland. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY In this position you will be based out of the Abbotsford office and you will report directly to the Project Manager. You will be involved in multiple projects simultaneously. The company is known to promote from within and there will be growth opportunities. ABOUT THE POSITION The Project Coordinator will be responsible for document control and will report to the Project Manager. Further duties include the following: Preparing the site and liaising with other construction professionals such as clients, estimators, engineers, and geotechnical surveyors. Assist with preparation of project budgets, schedules and helping to ensure the project is complete within budget and on schedule. Reviewing the project plans, specifications and commenting on the design schedule, possible cost saving measures and potential construction problems. Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly labour, equipment, material and subtrade costs. Monitor the activities subconsultants and suppliers on project. Ensure the timely mobilization of the proper equipment, tooling, and staff to project sites as well as the timely delivery of materials by vendors. Preparation and submission of daily LEMs Perform site inspections, checklists and record keeping Interface with clients and vendors as required Assist with preparation of project submittals and turnover packages. Be an active participant in SB Canada’s Health and Safety Program Assisting and cooperating with the HSE team to ensure regulations relating to health, safety and the environment are adhered to.
