Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity? RBC Global Asset Management (RBC GAM) is a North American-based asset management firm with global scope and industry-leading investment management capabilities. The GAM group of companies, including Phillips, Hager & North (PH&N) and BlueBay Asset Management, manage approximately $550B in assets worldwide.In your role as Fixed Income Analyst, RBC Global Asset Management (RBC GAM), you will work closely with a variety of different members of the PH&N Fixed Income team in Vancouver assisting with their day-to-day research, portfolio management and trading duties. This can include the opportunity to perform interest rate, macroeconomic, government credit and portfolio construction research. Fixed income analysis shared in team decision making in terms of interest rate risk, yield curve management, global macroeconomic research and general portfolio construction.Work directly as a member of the PH&N fixed income team on a day-to-day basis, participating in formal periodic team strategy meetings that provide a forum for the sharing of market knowledge and opinions on fixed income market opportunities and portfolio risk exposures.Ongoing monitoring of portfolio investments to determine appropriateness within the overall strategy by reviewing interest rate and curve risks; credit and liquidity risks; relative value analysis; ESG factors; etc.Work within a broad, high-performing, diverse, multi-disciplinary Fixed Income team to model and present investment solutions tailored to a wide range of different client types.What do you need to succeed? Must Have Highly analytical thinking with strong numeracy skills and attention to detail.Strong written and verbal communications skills.Preference to work in a dynamic team environment.Ability to manage concurrent tasks and activities that can change as markets dictate.Capability to perform research independently and summarize results and recommendations to other team members.Ability to make decisions under limited time and information constraints.A natural curiosity about capital markets and investing.Nice to Have A degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a field of study that builds a strong background for financial analysis.CFA Charter holder or desire and proven aptitude/background to pursue CFA designation.Computer skills including experience in Excel/VBA or Python/SQL or Bloomberg.Experience in the investment industry.Whats in it for you?
