WSP is currently seeking a motivated individual for a junior Mechanical Designer to join our Mechanical Buildings group, located at our Vancouver office. RESPONSIBILITIES Demonstrated ability to work with senior staff in the development of drawing packages; Have experience in designing HVAC and Building Automation systems; Knowledge of plumbing and fire-protection systems; Analysis of the building's heating, ventilation, and cooling loads; Perform engineering calculations; Experience to have been focused on building projects. Desirable experience to include light industrial; commercial, institutional, health care and recreational buildings; Heavy industrial building experience desirable but not mandatory; Primarily in an office environment, with some field work during initial site investigation and follow-up with contractor installation; QUALIFICATIONS Mechanical Engineering Degree or Diploma from an accredited institution; Proven working knowledge with AutoCAD and Revit software; Demonstrated understanding of Plumbing, Fire Protection and HVAC layouts; Good working knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD and Revit; A "can do" attitude with good initiative, attention to detail and strong organizational skills; Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills required; Must have proven record of working collaboratively in a team environment; Previous Co-op experience in related field is an asset; LEED accreditation and Passive House Certification is an asset Compensation Expected Salary (all locations): $62,600 to $106,400 per year WSP Canada is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it will pay for this position based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to the specific geographic location WSP is one of the world's leading professional services firms.
