PURPOSE OF JOB Tech Services Specialist is responsible to effectively promote and sell Tech services and products, executing both in-store and in-home/business. They will install, configure, upgrade, troubleshoot and repair computer hardware and operating systems, partnering with the Warranty Depot/Matrix teams as required. They are responsible for establishing and maintaining sales and service excellence by assigning the highest priority to customer satisfaction and demonstrating quality in every aspect of work. Provides guidance, training and coaching to associates as required on company initiatives, sales programs and product knowledge. Dependent on store sales volume this role will effectively balance their time in Tech Services as well as direct sales floor activities. TEAM OVERVIEW The M&A Operations team operates within the Global Security Operations and is comprised of engineers from various disciplines including server, storage, backup, network, and security, distributed in various countries throughout the world. The team is responsible for assessing and remediating the IT infrastructure of newly acquired organizations and providing operational support of the infrastructure whilst in a transition and integration periods to steady-state operational support. POSITION SUMMARY WSP is looking to hire an experienced engineer to handle the vulnerability and patch management activities within its M&A Operations team. Qualified candidates must have a proven background within security, vulnerability scanning and pathing fields, handling incidents, problems, changes, and requests for enterprises, both large and small. As WSP acquires organization around the world, the position requires candidates that are able to seamlessly handle multiple projects at the same time and are expected to be able to conduct the below listed responsibilities. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Assess and report on the current vulnerability and patching management status and policies of the M&As Document the infrastructure and transfer knowledge to other WSP IT teams. Deploy M&A Ops vulnerability scanning tools, setup reporting, prepare list of vulnerability priorities based on known threat information and risks. Assist M&As in developing policies, action plans and metrics to improve their patching process to ensure proper implementation without any outages. Provide technical guidance and hands-on support to M&As, engage in the problem/change management process. Analyse, anticipate, identify, and respond on vulnerability and patching issues. Help maintain an up-to-date list of M&As inventory of hardware assets with details about operating system versions, patch status, installed applications, and other relevant information. Assist M&As with creating, testing, and managing patch deployment packages. Assist M&A Operations team in developing policies and procedures to streamline the team operation. Help deploy M&A Operations tool set on server infrastructure. Collaborating with other team members to ensure that all new technologies are compatible with existing WSP standards. Coordinate and monitor the deliverables of the 3rd party suppliers. ACADEMIC AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS The ideal candidate would meet all, or most of the below criteria: Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field. 5-8 years of relevant experience in engineering and operational support. Position Summary The Hardware Asset Management Specialist will be responsible for hardware asset management lifecycle operational activities within the Hub and for ensuring Hub teams update and maintain assets in accordance with defined processes, operating procedures and policies. Job Responsibilities: Responsibilities of this role include (but are not limited to): Provide management of the Configuration Management Data Base (CMDB) to record and manage inventory details of hardware assets and the relationships of those assets to services (Configuration Items) throughout their lifecycle, to include reviewing dependencies and attribute mapping. Ensure procured and leased assets are maintained through Hub operational alignment to processes, standard operating procedures, and policies. Work in alignment with procurement to ensure timely ordering and delivery of assets to meet service levels and provide a positive user-experience, especially for onboarding and to ensure business productivity resulting from break/fix, (typically Task and/or Incident driven activity). Manage asset lifecycles by determining which assets have reached the end of life and need to be replaced (ensuring end-of-life hardware is returned). Execute refresh activity through established operational processes. Make sure asset disposals are executed according to the defined policies to meet security controls and compliance standards. Validate assets created through Advanced Shipping Notices in readiness to receive incoming deliveries and manage onward deployment. Perform verification and audit of CMDB content, compare hardware assets with actual inventory, initiate corrective actions and track through to completion. Work in alignment with projects for activities relating to facilities management (office open, move, close) to validate/adjust asset records and site information as necessary. Support the Change Enablement close-out process to ensure all assets have been updated prior to any Change being closed and corrections are made locally i.e., through Hub operations executing the Change. Through local governance and by preparing detailed audit information and operational metrics analysis, (using PowerBI dashboards as the single source of truth), highlight operational gaps and issues that require focus, ensure these are addressed as required in alignment with ITSM practices. Where processes and/or operating procedures may need adjusting to drive improvement, raise as required to ITSM Practices and provide feedback/inputs as necessary. Support transitional activities as operations are internalized and share Knowledge as required. Skills and Qualifications: Required A clear understanding of the ITIL framework and an ability to apply ITIL principles within an IT service management environment, ITIL qualification as standard. 4-6 years of experience working in an ITIL aligned operational role (Asset Management or similar). Position Summary The Incident & Request Management Specialist ensures the effective handling of Incidents and Requests by operations in order to improve business productivity and enhance user-experience.
