About the Role Oversee and coordinate cross-functional teams on multiple Moulding and Automation Solutions programs to ensure appropriate APQP and Quality-related PDP process steps and proactive quality tools are being properly and thoroughly executed on a timely basis. The Senior Cost Specialist / Engineer will be responsible for the fuel cell product cost estimates that form the foundation of the fuel cell stack and module product roadmap. The candidate will work both independently and as part of cross functional project teams to gather and synthesize data, generate cost models and estimates, define cost reduction alternatives, and present recommendations to decision makers, then follow through on the agreed implementation of authorized options. This new space will enable teamwork, collaboration and innovation that will help us to achieve our mission to electrify life in one generation. JOB OVERVIEW  OPG is looking for dedicated, results driven and dynamic professionals to join our Design & Project Engineering team in the role of Design Engineer (DE) located in Pickering,ON and Darlington,ON. The Design Engineer will have the opportunity to contribute to Ontario Power Generation by coordinating and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to understand design inputs and requirements, schedules, finances, and performance for the assigned projects.  This is an exciting opportunity to work in an environment where you will contribute to Ontario Power Generation’s continued growth and success in generating safe, clean, reliable low-cost power in a sustainable manner. We are looking for the following disciplines: Mechanical/Mechatronics  Electrical/I&C/Electronics Nuclear Chemical KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES   Follow OPG Engineering Change Control process to prepare Design Change Packages such as Modifications, Temporary Modifications and Non-Identical Component Replacements; IEE (item Equivalency Evaluation, Procurement Engineering Evaluations, MEL (Master Equipment List), Lead or support conceptual, preliminary and detail design phases for Design Change Packages; Provide support to field installation, commissioning and available for service-related activities, Co-ordination with different internal and external working group to have a successful completion of Design and PE(procurement engineering task) Prepare design reports, engineering specifications, engineering calculations, technical evaluations, advice, and direction, solve problems and coordinate technical work as required, in several major work areas, in support of the commissioning, operation and maintenance of the facilities.   Maintain and/or update operating and other specified department/divisional procedures. Receive assignments relating to procedures from the Supervisor or identify potential problems and opportunities. Prepare new or revised procedures consistent with operating licenses, policies, principles, department standard practices, standing instructions, maximum safety of operation, minimal risk of damage or loss, optimum frequency of routines, efficient operation, and the like. Submit for review and approval.  Design support to Projects and Minor Modifications associated with the NSS western waste management process. Provide technical and process support to field work, under Projects, Minor Modifications, and Work Order Holds, Address design related field issues. Leadership in initiatives that support improved current and long-term efficiencies and performance. Interface with external Design vendor partners.  Supporting day-to-day and emergent issues. Plan, coordinate and conduct engineering assessments, studies, inspections, investigations, designs, and evaluations systems. Perform field inspections, acceptance, and approvals. Maintain written processes and procedures to reflect improved operating methods and additions to all supported systems; Maintain process compliance during project execution. Support engineering acceptance of modification turnovers. Provide Engineering Change Control guidance, provide active support to field issues and Field Initiated Changes, and facilitate a positive outcome with EPC vendors. Understand impacts on cost and schedule and provide support to minimize impacts driving projects. Gather input from stakeholder departments and agencies to ensure project and modification requirements are captured and detailed in the project documents. Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and government agencies as required. Respond to emergencies, equipment failure, unsatisfactory equipment performance, conduct field investigations, prepare reports, and recommend actions. Develop plans, standards and technical procedures for inspection, maintenance, and monitoring programs.  EDUCATION 4-year university degree in Electrical/Instrumentation Control /Mechanical/Nuclear/Chemical Engineering.   Professional Engineer designation or Eligibility to become a Professional Engineer in Ontario an Asset.   QUALIFICATIONS Design experience required, preferably with OPG or Nuclear Industry. Experience with use of industry codes and standards.
