Our Winnipeg office has an opportunity for SENIOR DESIGNER/DRAFTER to join our mobility solution team servicing our projects and clients in Manitoba. In this role you will work on creating innovative, practical solutions to various bridge projects and structures in Manitoba, and across Canada.We need our Designers at this level to have a successful track record in bridge and structural projects, preferably in Manitoba, with a strong work ethic and a collaborative mindset. In this role you will apply more advanced CAD techniques, and develop difficult complex structural and bridge layouts and design drawings utilizing either 2D or 3D CAD software to meet company and industry standards and codes. You are expected to work independently and complete the most demanding design assignments. Main Responsibilities: Utilizes a CAD workstation to prepare difficult and complex layout and design drawings utilizing theoretical and practical design knowledge.Performs complex drafting tasks efficiently and accurately both independently and as part of a team.Interprets and ensures conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures.Understands and utilizes more advanced software to complete assignments.Works closely with Engineers and other disciplines to ensure coordinated design systems.Meets layout requirements and develops alternate design layouts of systems as required.Prepares reinforcing details, bar schedules, and bill of materials.May assist in inspections of existing bridges and other structures under construction.Reviews supplier data and supplier drawings, as required.Develops and reviews orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) drawings.Performs checking procedures as appropriate to the discipline and assigned by immediate supervisor.Provides input and technical guidance for mentoring lower-level Designers working on the same and other projects.Willingness to travel or relocate to supplier, client, or construction site locations, is expected subject to project needs.Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.This description of responsibilities is not a comprehensive listing of what may be required from the employee.
