The Opportunity:WSP has a new opportunity for an experienced CAD Technician/ Designer (Drafter) to join our team on a full-time basis based in British Columbia or Alberta.A day in the life in this role could involve: Working closely with the various engineering and environmental groups to fill the needs of our internal and external clients in providing engineering design and drafting services. Analyzing and reviewing survey data and identifying potential issues with the surface. Interpret, and utilize topographic survey data, survey field notes, and engineering designs. Performing advanced/complex calculations, optimize designs. Design advanced/complex 3D models using a pre-established design criteria, assist engineers with analysis of proposed design elements. Creating new drawings and editing existing drawings independently using field notes/client information. Leading the drafting component on large projects by understanding the correlation between drawings and resourcing CAD technicians to assist with completing project deliverables. Being responsible for product quality control with adherence to company standards and procedures Providing supervision and mentorship of junior and intermediate employees.
