Nurse Practitioner - Pediatric Emergency Department

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) for the Emergency Department at McMaster Children’s Hospital will provide leadership and promote excellence in pediatric family centered nursing care through expert clinical practice, education, consultation and research. The NP will work within a multidisciplinary team in an academic Emergency Department. The NP will be an active member of the frontline staff, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team members, and using a patient and family centered model of care to provide direct patient care, coordination of care, discharge planning, and the coordination of related community, and other resources for patients. The NP will tutor and mentor nursing and other health professional students as appropriate, and participate in continuing education activities to integrate the role of the NP in the program and academic settings.  The NP will work in partnership with various sub-specialists, consultants, nursing and other members of the health care team to provide comprehensive medical assessment, management and education. 
Registered Practical Nurse - Satellite Health Facility

The SHF is part of the Community & Population Health Program and approved to operate until March 2024. Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) recruited for the SHF are hired into permanent positions through the Nursing Resource Team (NRT).  The RPN will work as part of a multidisciplinary team within the SHF. Our SHF nurses are set-up for success and go through a comprehensive on-site orientation program, led by experienced health care professionals and educators.
