The Complex Care and Recovery Program at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is currently seeking a part-time, temporary (12 months) Registered Nurse to work on the Forensic Assessment Unit. As a member of an interprofessional team, you will provide client-centred, recovery oriented, psychiatric and general nursing care. In addition, you will ensure the security and safety of the client care environment, and practice in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario standards of practice, CAMH Policies and Practice Model, and the Canadian Standards of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing Practice. Working within a primary nursing model, you will perform assessments, develop, implement and evaluate the interprofessional plan of client-care for clients from diverse backgrounds who may be suffering from mental health and addiction problems and who are detained under the Criminal Code or under the jurisdiction of the Ontario Review Board (ORB). You will liaise with other services in the CCR Program, across other CAMH programs, and across community agencies to coordinate care for clients. You will be responsible for working with clients from diverse populations; contributing to program development; providing education, support and supervision to students and participating in research activities. You will develop, implement and monitor risk management plans and contribute to the assessment of client’s fitness for trial. You will ensure compliance with the ORB disposition or court orders.
