Summary of Duties K2W is a complex / transitional care unit within the Veterans Centre. RPNs are responsible for the total care of a group of residents within a primary nursing care delivery model within their scope of practice and responsible for the total care which includes personal care (ADL’s) of patients. The teaching and certification process is provided by the hospital Care planning and coordination of care with various team members. Utilization of computerized systems for documentation of patient care. Participation in project teams or Hospital committees as required. Resource/team leader responsibilities. Preceptorship of nursing students and Mentorship of new nursing staff.   Qualifications:  Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Current BCLS certification. CNA certification in Oncology Nursing is preferred. Current DeSouza course in Oncology Foundations, preferred. Current DeSouza Oncology Chemotherapy/Biotherapy, preferred. 2 years recent experience in oncology. Current Oncology and or Palliative specialty designation from CNA, preferred. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team, patients, family members and visitors. Demonstrated good patient assessment skills. Patient assessment course preferred. Summary of Duties K1W is a complex / transitional care unit within the Veterans Centre. RPNs are responsible for the total care of a group of residents within a primary nursing care delivery model within their scope of practice and responsible for the total care which includes personal care (ADL’s) of patients. Summary of Duties The Odette Cancer Centre is an ambulatory care facility dedicated to the treatment and support of outpatient cancer patients and their families. Large volumes of patients flow through the centre on a daily basis for clinical assessment, radiation, chemotherapy, minor surgery, diagnostic &/or therapeutic procedures.  The clinic supervisor is responsible for the daily operation of assigned clinics and disease site groups within the ambulatory clinics. Duties include, but are not limited to: monitoring the clinic environment (eg. equipment, supplies, IT systems), ensuring patient safety & mitigating risk through enforcement of  policies & procedures, managing human resource requirements and performance-related  issues, ongoing recruitment & retention of staff, conducting performance reviews, addressing patient & family concerns, operationalization of centre-wide quality improvement initiatives with ongoing monitoring & evaluation, day-to-day staffing, program planning, development, implementation, & evaluation, facilitating professional development, chairing of site-based team meetings, and organizational meeting participation. Creating a supportive environment for patients and their families through the daily management of appropriate staffing levels, clinic processes, and facilitating interprofessional communication is of utmost importance to this role.
